Dr. Darcey Ladner and staff partners with Feeding America to bring meals to the hungry, reports Omni Wellness Center. Feeding America has a goal of $80,000 by Thanksgiving Day and with a generous challenge grant, will provide twice as many meals to families in need. No adult or child should have to go hungry and Feeding America makes a difference in the lives of others. In 2016, 46 million Americans in needs received 4 billion meals through the Feeding America program and active participation of concerned people and partnering organizations. All are encouraged to participate or donate in this worthwhile cause.
As reported from the Feeding America program, 1 in 8 people struggle with hunger and some of the most vulnerable populations do not receive enough food. 42 million people face hunger in the United States. Five million seniors and almost 13 million children are affected. Every community includes those that struggle with hunger. Individuals that do not eat enough healthy food cannot thrive and may experience serious conditions related to a lack of needed nutrients.
The Feeding America program is a network that stretches across America. It is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization. Donors, staff and volunteer make it possible to improve the lives and end hunger for individuals and families in every state. There are multiple ways to participate. Individuals can make a one-time donation with a preferred payment option, give monthly, volunteer, and create their own personal fundraising campaign. Anyone across America can get involved at a level that feels right to them.
“Feeding America is a perfect embodiment of the spirit of giving this holiday season,” said Dr. Darcey Ladner, chiropractor. “No family should have to go hungry and individuals that participate in the program often experience a profound sense of gratitude for what they have and joy in helping others enjoy healthy meals.
